I love Citizens. These pictures are at the Bleecker and Soho spots (Soho is temporarily closed) and they are both adorable. Maybe it's the sophisticated marble tables, but something about it makes you feel like a 40 year old trophy wife. By that I mean, this is a spot that makes you feel as though your only priorities in the world rest in brunching with your pals and shopping- and these locations are surrounded by stores begging you to swipe that little plastic card. Or we're tapping now, we're tapping right?
This place is perfect, whether it's a lil matcha date or you're going full pitcher mode- you have the options. Portions are small, don't expect to be massively stuffed and I would not recommend if you're looking for a hangover cure. But for light and good, this is your spot!
There's a killer brunch deal here as well.
Their pièce de résistance was the damn espresso martinis. God I love espresso martinis- love that we as a society are making it socially acceptable to drink them at 11 am. I've always felt they had that power.
All in all, if you need a calm brunch to replenish, refresh with your man, your girl, your girlfriends, your guy friends- recharge here. You'll feel satisfied and accomplished and well put together, which is all any of us can hope to feel walking out of brunch.
