Chrissy Teigen Recommends This BYOB Indian Restaurant with a Decadent String Light Backdrop.

Updated: Apr 1, 2021

I don't want to put words in her mouth but I mean I would say that's a recommendation? And Panna II Garden Indian Cuisine is one of my absolute favorite East Village restaurants. I've had phenomenal memories, so many amazing nights where we stumble into this place with a bottle of booze and smash some alarmingly cheap Indian food. Go here. Go here for birthdays. Go here for Mondays. Go here.

The obvious highlight at Panna II Garden is the crazy string lights completely surrounding you. You can't fully stand up. But you will not be complaining. The ambiance excludes "cheap, fun eats with friends," and the vibes could not radiate any higher.

It's BYOB! Did I mention it's BYOB!?? Discovering BYOB restaurants even existed was such a game changer to me when I was living off BEC's at the bodega under me in Bushwick and fancy dinners were few and far between- this was my time to shine.

Even now, though I may be able to afford some cocktails at dinner, it has this unique charm and holds such a special place in my heart. <3

I know I didn't mention anything about the food here but honestly, you don't come here for the food. I think it's very well known to be mediocre. It's cheap, I've tried a lot of menu items, the one thing that is impossible to f*ck up is naan and the garlic naan and cheese naan are *chef's kiss*. Then I usually get whatever they recommend, some nice Chicken Tikka Masala dish, whatever it is, it gets the job done. Somehow I always end up with a dessert too. I don't ever remember ordering it but it's always good and it never appears on the bill.

Go here. Did I say that already?
