How to Have the Most Instagram Worthy, Magical Chinatown Experience. Like a Local.

"Instagram worthy" and "like a local" rarely go hand in hand, but this truly is the best way to spend an evening in Chinatown.

5 pm: Your meeting point is Chinese Tuxedo, it's along the coolest side street in Chinatown currently painted in full technicolor and made for some daytime fun.

Nom Wah Parlor is a great spot along this street to grab some famous soup dumplings or their phenomenal pork buns, snack a little bit because you've got a late dinner.

Then stroll down to Chinatown Ice Cream Factory for a little extra treat, whether you actually get ice cream or not, it puts you in a great spot to explore the streets. They adventurous flavors like Thai Iced Tea, Zen Butter, and Taro to some more tame for those looking for it, so split one, if anything.

ROOFTOP

7:30 pm: Then head to the Crown which is a great rooftop overlooking Lower Manhattan to watch sunset.

DINNER

8:30 pm: Sichuan Hot Pot - for THESE street views, you're going to plop down at Sichuan Hot Pot or another of the restaurants lining the street for a plethora of delicious Chinatown eats and some sake. It truly felt like we were transported to an entirely different continent. An unreal experience.

COCKTAILS

10 pm: There's MORE, now you're headed back to Chinese Tuxedo for fancy cocktails! Inside and downstairs is PEACHYS, a phenomenally cute cocktail bar that I thought was gone forever but it is back back! It's rife with Instagram wannabe models but this is for a reason.

Apotheke is another great option next door if the line is too long at Peachy's. It's a great old alchemists vibe in there and it's a more sophisticated crowd.
