Tacoway Beach & Other Great Eats at Rockaway Beach.

A beautiful day at the beach calls for an equally beautiful restaurant experience, because if you're trekking that 45-1 hour 30 via Subway, you can't JUST go to the beach. Eats are just as pivotal to your day.

Tacoway Beach is the go to spot on Rockaway! This surf shack themed restaurant/bar is a dream come true post or pre sun. We waited about 15 minutes for a table and ordered ahead so our tacos were ready right away. There's a fab cash only bar for drinks (yummy margaritas) to truly set the scene.

It was $9 for two tacos.. we got two orders each because we were STARVED. The tacos were loaded. Exactly how I like em. They did not skimp me on guac. The scene and the people are top notch & this spot always completes my Rockaway Trip!!

The Bugalow Bar is another great hot spot, the most "upscale" you'll find (still not upscale, your swim trunks and bro tank are fine) to watch the sunset and especially for a cute date night spot for you and your S.O. Don't be intimidated by the line, it's worth the wait. They'll text you when your spot is ready and the place will surprise you with how much room there is!! Menu is small but the flavor is there, a perfect end to your sun drenched day.

Caracas Arepas is ideal for a quick eats place when you just want to refuel and head back to the beach. There's a ton of vegetarian and gluten free options and it's the perfect light beach food to do the trick!

Kimo's Kitchen

If I go anywhere new, it can be assumed I will definitely find the Mediterranean spot. Kimo's is a cute, casual and affordable little spot for some quality food. Downtown Rockaway....which is a stretch of that word.. is not a hopping spot, but that little street, she shines. Kimo's is right next to a cute coffee spot and you should definitely grab some ice cream at Mara's Ice Cream Parlor next door.
