The Best and Worst Espresso Martini's in New York City

Something I'm very passionate about.

BEST

  1. La Lanterno Vatterio - $13-$14 and THIS MENU!!! Every Martini type you can imagine, I count 25, their Espresso Martini is fab, Banana Split Martini, and Chocolate Cake Martini. If I'm walking around Greenwich feeling something sweet, I always stop here and try a new martini. Fills me up much more than cake.

  2. Ayza Wine & Chocolate Bar-This place is it. The experience. The beautiful twinkly lights, garden, trolley, the indulgent chocolate with EVERY martini!! It's $18 but their espresso martini is perfectly proportionate, delectable and rich.

  3. Bar Belly - DELICIOUS. They call it the "Dead Witch," with the tagline"The Espresso Martini is dead, long live the Espresso Martini- Wodka Vodka, house coffee liqueur, house turkish grind cold brew, tonka, black walnut, coconut for $16- it somehow tasted like a frozen cocktail, sensational. Price is high but wow this one was a stunner.

  4. Wine30- A beautiful date spot at a wine bar with a terrace for the ages, this creamy Espresso Martini (secret ingredient being a White Chocolate liquor,) is all the indulgence I'm looking for when enjoying a $14 Espresso Martini.

  5. Tara Rose- They self proclaim it's the #1 in NYC and I will say, it's the right price point ($14) for the quintessential Espresso Martini at a vibrant HH or dinner spot in Kips Bays. Classically great.

  6. Pineapple Club- this spot in the EV is extremely extravagant and their martinis are extremely potent. You feel as though you've been invited into an exclusive club, they took us down the spiral staircase so we could take in the whole view. A fab spot, would recommend for a birthday dinner or sit outside to enjoy 2 of these martini's and you'll be done for the night. $15

  7. Dudleys- A newer addition to their menu but this $16 martini was pretty good! They don't skimp on some extra flavor to make it stand out amongst the crowd & being that Dudleys doesn't take reservations, it's always a great spot to stop in and grab a cocktail and apps.

  8. Phebe's- Pleasantly surprised to find that frat boy central had an Espresso Martini menu! Classic, Mexican, French, and a Phebe's special with Guinness simple syrup. I loved the French. $16, I'm not obsessed with the price but I love the variety.

  9. Pretty Ricky's - A cool scene, but we were largely underwhelmed after such Martinis as Bar Bellys and Dudleys. Nothing terribly special and $16 at that.

  10. Soho Park - $14 in the cutest corner of Soho. I find myself in the area so much that I'm always walking by and it's always convenient for me. Do not order any food! But for a quick fix for a reasonable price, here you go!!

AYZA

Worst.

  1. Baby Brasa -$20! This place has some nerve, to have that bad of service, that expensive of drinks and that small of portions of food for the price- absurd. If you're going to charge that much for an Espresso Martini, I expect strong, I expect a buzz, I received none. Please get drunk anywhere else before you head to this place.

  2. Fiddlesticks- $15 -Cafe Martini -Have a hard time deciphering if this is just coffee and vodka. I've ordered several times because damn I love this bar. But what is this poor excuse for an Espresso Martini??

  3. Factory 380- I think they jumped on the trend and had to make an Espresso Martini because the area demanded it. Kahlua, vodka, and probably some cold brew, you can make it at home. For $9 I'd recommend, for $14 nah this is a bust.

Other Visits

- Mykonos Bleu - No cocktail menu but it's a hotel restaurant so they were able to order from the hotel to get some fresh espresso. Loved the service, they were so accomodating and we got $220 worth of food and drinks for $65. Almost unbeatable. Grab the great deal here.

Where should we go next??
